Kyrgyzstan and Egypt Plan to Expand Economic Cooperation

Kyrgyzstan and Egypt want to broaden cooperation across trade, investment, industry, culture and humanitarian affairs, according to talks in Bishkek between senior officials from both countries.

Kyrgyz Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev met Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister Hussein Mohamed Ahmed Eissa. The meeting also focused on Egypt’s role in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation as a dialogue partner.

Kasymaliev said closer work with Cairo helps connect Central Asia more closely with the Arab world and Africa. He pointed to President Sadyr Japarov’s official visit to Egypt in November 2025 as a source of new momentum in bilateral relations.

The strengthened dialogue has already produced one institutional change: Kyrgyzstan opened an embassy in Cairo. Kasymaliev said the priority now was to preserve the pace established by the countries’ leaders through government contacts and practical joint steps. Eissa, visiting Kyrgyzstan for the first time, confirmed Egypt’s readiness to expand political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.
