Kyrgyzstan, Belarus Leaders Discuss Cooperation and Upcoming Events

Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov in Cholpon-Ata on July 23, 2026, to discuss bilateral cooperation. The two leaders explored ways to expand their partnership across key areas.

Kyrgyzstan and Belarus have created all the necessary conditions for further strengthening of partnership.

Japarov highlighted that favorable conditions exist for strengthening ties between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus, citing high-level political dialogue, a solid legal framework, and a shared commitment to agreements. He expressed confidence that the meeting would further invigorate mutually beneficial cooperation and foster trust between the nations.

Discussions also included Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko's upcoming attendance at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and the opening ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games. Ryzhenkov conveyed greetings from Lukashenko and congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, expressing confidence in Kyrgyzstan's significant contributions to the council's work.

The meeting will provide an additional impetus for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and the strengthening of trusting political dialogue between the two countries.

Both sides confirmed their readiness for continued close interaction and the implementation of agreed-upon initiatives, particularly focusing on developing trade and economic cooperation and joint projects.
