Kyrgyzstan, Japan to Establish Migrant Training Centers

Kyrgyzstan and Japan are deepening their cooperation in employment, with a focus on training labor migrants for the Japanese market. Officials from Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration met with representatives from Japan's Immigration Services Agency to discuss the expansion of the "Tokutei Gino" (Specified Skilled Worker) program. This program is designed to attract foreign specialists to Japanese industries experiencing personnel deficits.

The collaboration will see the creation of special centers in Kyrgyzstan dedicated to preparing candidates for employment in Japan. These centers will provide systematic training aligned with Japanese qualification and language requirements, with support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This initiative is expected to boost the employment of Kyrgyz citizens in sectors like tourism, construction, agriculture, and elder care.

Both nations have agreed to sign an interdepartmental agreement to formalize their institutional interaction and ensure transparent migration processes. This partnership is seen as a strategic move for Kyrgyzstan, enabling the nation to cultivate skilled labor, diversify its employment options beyond traditional markets, and attract investment in its human capital.
