Kyrgyzstan: Parents must submit medical documents for first-grade enrollment

Parents in Kyrgyzstan must complete the enrollment process for first-grade students by submitting essential medical documents. Following the initial electronic registration, guardians are required to provide the original medical certificate detailing the child's health status and another confirming their vaccination history. These documents must be submitted to the school between August 4 and September 5, according to the Ministry of Education.

The electronic registration system, "Electronic enrollment of children in state and municipal general education organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic," has seen significant uptake. As of the latest data, 128,200 children have been registered for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year. With a total capacity of 193,300 spots across the country, there are still 65,100 available places for new students.

Electronic registration commenced on April 1, initially based on school districts. Currently, parents can register children in schools outside their designated micro-districts, provided there are vacancies. The registration period is set to conclude in August. Children born in 2019 and 2020 are eligible for first grade this year.
