Kyrgyzstan plans renovation of Ydyrys-Ata mausoleum

A preliminary design project has been drafted to revitalize the historical pilgrimage site of Ydyrys-Ata, located in the Zhyany-Bazar village of the Chatkal district in Kyrgyzstan's Jalal-Abad region. The initiative seeks to preserve the area's rich cultural heritage and improve the visitor experience.

The project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services, focuses on enhancing the grounds of the Ydyrys-Ata mausoleum. The goal is to create a more comfortable and accessible environment for the numerous pilgrims and tourists who visit the site annually.

Plans include the comprehensive renovation of the historical site, which spans approximately one hectare. Improvements will extend to the surrounding infrastructure, ensuring that facilities meet the needs of visitors. This development is anticipated to significantly contribute to the growth of historical and cultural tourism within the Chatkal district.

The developed design project is currently undergoing review and approval procedures. Officials expressed confidence that the renovations will not only benefit pilgrims and tourists but also promote the unique historical and cultural identity of the region.
