Kyrgyzstan security forces neutralize ISIS members planning attacks

Security forces in Kyrgyzstan have successfully neutralized active members of international terrorist organizations, including ISIS, during a special operation in the southern regions. The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported that the extremists were planning coordinated terrorist attacks targeting law enforcement officers and religious leaders.

The anti-terrorist operation took place across several locations, including the cities of Osh and Kyzyl-Kiya, as well as the Kara-Suu district and the village of Uch-Korgon. The SCNS Chairman, Zhumgalbek Shabdanbekov, supervised the operation in real-time. Multiple government agencies, including police, border service, military, and emergency services, participated in the effort.

As a result of the operation, 31 suspects were detained across Osh and Batken regions. Searches yielded significant findings: religious extremist literature, electronic media containing extremist content, four unregistered firearms, symbols of terrorist organizations, and funds designated for financing foreign terrorist underground groups.

SCNS Chairman Shabdanbekov has ordered thorough investigations into the detainees' connections and funding channels to ensure citizen safety and prevent further threats. The Main Investigative Department of the SCNS is currently conducting further operational and investigative activities, emphasizing strict adherence to the law throughout the process.
