Kyrgyzstan Sees Government Reshuffle with Key Energy and Foreign Ministry Appointments

Kyrgyzstan experienced a series of government personnel shifts during the week of July 27 to 31. The Ministry of Energy saw significant restructuring, with Kursantbek Omurbekov appointed as the first deputy minister.

Omurbekov, born in 1985, brings extensive experience to the role, having worked in the energy sector for approximately 20 years. He previously held positions including deputy minister and headed "Electric Stations" OJSC. His predecessor in the first deputy role, Omurbek Jenishbekov, served less than four months.

Further changes in the Ministry of Energy saw Beknur Maratbekov and Mirlan Parkhanov appointed as deputies, replacing Nasipbek Kerimov and Nazgul Usenova. Maratbekov, born in 1990, has a background in economics and renewable energy policy. Parkhanov, born in 1987, has experience in human rights, elections, and city administration.

Ulukbek Mamyraliev, born in 1984, took over as head of "Electric Stations" OJSC, replacing Omurbekov. Mamyraliev also boasts over two decades in the energy industry, with experience in modernizing hydroelectric power plants.

In foreign affairs, Seitek Zhumakadyr uulu was appointed deputy minister of Foreign Affairs. Born in 1988, he has been with the ministry since 2011 and previously directed the Consular Department, focusing on citizen protection abroad.
