Kyrgyzstan to celebrate 85th birthday of composer Ryspay Abdykadyrov

The Kara-Kuldzha district in Kyrgyzstan's Osh region will host a series of events on June 19-20 to commemorate the 85th anniversary of renowned composer Ryspay Abdykadyrov.

The commemoration begins on June 19 with the unveiling of a monument to Abdykadyrov at the Kara-Kuldzha rural administrative center's House of Culture. The day's program also includes a photo exhibition detailing his life and work, and a scientific-practical conference titled "Ryspay Abdykadyrov's Musical Heritage as a Value of National Spirituality."

Festivities continue on June 20 at the Ajike pasture, where Abdykadyrov's well-known songs will be performed. The day's schedule features concert performances and traditional games, culminating in a gala concert for participants of a competition dedicated to singing Abdykadyrov's songs. Winners will receive commemorative gifts.

Local and regional officials, along with prominent performers, are expected to attend the events. Ryspay Abdykadyrov, born January 12, 1941, in the village of Kyzyl-Bulak, composed approximately two hundred songs and was honored with the title of Meritorious Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic. He passed away on September 12, 1994, at the age of 53.
