Kyrgyzstan to conduct Hajj 2027 registration exclusively online

Kyrgyzstan is set to revolutionize its Hajj pilgrimage process for 2027 by moving all registration and related procedures online. The Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK) announced that applications will be accepted solely through a unified digital system via the new Umra-Azhylyk mobile application.

This digital transformation is part of a broader plan discussed by an interagency commission responsible for organizing Umrah and Hajj. The commission also addressed selecting an airline for pilgrim transport, arranging vaccinations, and preparing a uniform for pilgrims. The Umra-Azhylyk platform will serve as a central hub for managing the waiting list, allocating quotas, processing payments, and handling application reviews and appeals.

The move towards a fully digital registration system is expected to streamline the complex logistics involved in organizing the annual pilgrimage, making the process more efficient for both the authorities and the pilgrims. This initiative reflects a growing trend in many countries to leverage technology for public services and large-scale event management.
