Kyrgyzstan transfers land for China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project

In a significant step for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, Kyrgyzstan has officially reclassified 3.36 hectares of agricultural land to settlement land in the Ala-Buga aiyl aimak of the Ak-Tala district in the Naryn region. This administrative change, formalized by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev, is crucial for the ongoing development of the vital transport corridor.

The transfer is intended to provide citizens with equivalent land plots in exchange for those seized for the construction of China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan railway.

The primary purpose of this land transfer is to provide citizens with equivalent land plots as compensation for those that have been acquired for the construction of the railway. This measure aims to ensure that local communities are appropriately accommodated as the project progresses, mitigating potential displacement and ensuring fair exchange for land use.

The district administration has been instructed to undertake several key tasks, including amending land registration documentation and developing urban planning documents. Furthermore, they are responsible for ensuring that the newly designated settlement lands are used for their intended purposes and that adequate safety measures, including drainage systems, anti-seismic preparations, and compliance with environmental, sanitary, and fire safety regulations, are implemented.
