Lagos APC unveils Hamzat’s running mate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has officially unveiled Damilola Sonayan-James as the running mate for its governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat. The announcement was made by the Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, who cited Sonayan-James's "competence, leadership capacity, grassroots acceptance, party loyalty, and ability to contribute meaningfully to the continued development of Lagos State" as key factors in her selection.

Sonayan-James, currently the Deputy Woman Leader of the APC in Lagos, hails from Badagry. Her emergence followed indications at the end of May and was affirmed after a significant meeting involving top party leaders, including Governance Advisory Council leader Tajudeen Olusi, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Dr. Hamzat himself.

The 41-year-old Sonayan-James is known for her work in agricultural development, women empowerment, youth inclusion, and community welfare. The party urged residents to support their ticket, framing a vote for the APC as a vote for "continuity, prosperity, inclusive growth, and a greater Lagos."
