Lagos law student dies after jumping from four-storey building

A 23-year-old student at the Nigerian Law School in Lagos has died in a suspected suicide. Faith Alayande was found unresponsive on campus after allegedly jumping from the rooftop of her four-storey hostel building.

The incident was reported to the police after another student and a relative discovered a suicide note left by Alayande. Before they could locate her, she had reportedly fallen from the building. The matron of the institution alerted the Victoria Island Police Division.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details, noting that preliminary observations at the scene suggested the deceased had jumped from the rooftop. Her body has been evacuated to a morgue for preservation. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing.

This tragic event echoes a similar case in December 2025, when a Nigerian Law School student, Ayomiposi Ojajuni, reportedly died by suicide after being barred from writing his Bar Final examinations at the Yola campus.
