Large-Scale Operation Planned for Kinahan's Extradition Arrival

Daniel Kinahan is anticipated to be extradited from Dubai to Ireland in the near future. The move follows the arrival of a government jet in the United Arab Emirates, signaling the final stages of his return to face Irish justice.

The 49-year-old has been held in Dubai since April, detained under a warrant issued by Irish courts. Kinahan recently lost his final appeal against extradition from the UAE, clearing the way for his transfer.

A significant security operation is being prepared in Dublin ahead of his expected arrival at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnell. This operation will involve a coordinated effort between armed gardaí, the Defense Forces, and the Irish Prison Service. The prison service has recently acquired a bulletproof and bomb-proof escort van, intended for high-risk individuals like Kinahan. He is expected to be moved to the Special Criminal Court upon arrival.

Kinahan is slated to be held in custody at the maximum-security Portlaoise Prison. Facilities at the prison have recently been upgraded, preparing for his arrival.
