Late fertilizer deliveries blamed for falling rice yields

Delayed fertilizer deliveries are contributing to lower rice yields, according to Aswadil Khairi Che Omar, chairman of the MADA Farmers' Organization young farmers' committee.

He said the delays could not be treated as a minor issue because rice farmers were bearing the consequences directly. Their position has become more difficult as recent harvest yields already face pressure.

Aswadil said the delays stemmed from human factors, rather than circumstances beyond control such as weather.
