Late Snowfall Blankets Jahorina Mountain

Despite the official end of the winter season, the popular ski resort of Jahorina experienced an unexpected snowfall of 10 to 15 centimeters on Tuesday. This late-season dusting has prompted road maintenance crews to take precautionary measures, even though the ski lifts have ceased operations.

The company "Romanijaputev" announced that its teams will be applying abrasive materials to the roads leading to Jahorina as a preventive measure. Dragan Buloščić, technical director for "Romanijaputev," mentioned that their teams had not been clearing roads earlier in the day due to only a few centimeters of snow falling. However, given the increased accumulation, they will proceed with the preventative treatment tonight.

Winter season has ended and we have not received a call from the Olympic Center for cleaning, but we will still preemptively sprinkle the roads tonight.

Officials at the Olympic Center "Jahorina" confirmed that the snow is still falling but emphasized that it doesn't change the operational status, as the winter season has concluded. They noted that snowfalls even occurred around the season's closing. The decision to keep the season open in April was questioned due to low attendance, and discussions about potentially organizing skiing on May 1st are ongoing but not yet finalized with the management.
