Serbia and Hungary Extend Border Crossing Hours to 24/7 Operation

In a move designed to streamline cross-border traffic and alleviate congestion, Serbia and Hungary are set to implement extended operating hours at two key border crossings. The Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with Hungarian border authorities, announced that the Vinogradi - Ašothalom and Horgoš 2 - Reske 2 crossings will transition to 24-hour operation starting May 1st.

This decision comes as a direct response to the need to prevent prolonged waiting times and ease the flow of people and goods between the two nations. The extension of operating hours is expected to significantly reduce the burden on border traffic, facilitating smoother transit for travelers and commercial transport.

The Vinogradi - Ašothalom crossing will begin its 24-hour service at 7:00 AM on May 1st. Shortly thereafter, at 4:00 AM on the same day, the Horgoš 2 - Reske 2 crossing will also commence round-the-clock operations.
