Latvia Turns Back 88 Migrants from Belarus; Poland Reports 11

Latvian authorities reported turning back 88 migrants attempting to enter from Belarus over the last 24 hours, as the country continues to grapple with a significant influx of undocumented individuals. This figure adds to the ongoing challenges faced by Eastern European Union member states on their borders with Belarus.

Meanwhile, Poland's Border Guard service reported encountering 11 such individuals on Monday. These numbers reflect a persistent pattern of attempted illegal crossings, which Western nations have attributed to the regime in Minsk since the migration crisis began in 2021.

Lithuania, which has been particularly affected, has prevented over 1,600 individuals from illegally entering from Belarus last year. This year, the number stands at 1,105. In total, since the onset of the migration crisis, Lithuania has denied entry to approximately 25,600 illegal migrants, highlighting the scale of the challenge at its eastern frontier.
