Latvian youth basketball team crowned European champions

Latvia's junior basketball team has claimed the European Championship title, triumphing over France with a 75-69 victory in the final. The young squad showcased a dominant performance throughout the tournament, winning all seven of their matches.

Leading the charge was B. Berrouetas, who was instrumental in the team's success. The son of a Latvian mother and an American father, Berrouetas chose to represent his mother's homeland and delivered a stellar performance in the final, scoring 22 points. His exceptional play earned him the title of the tournament's best player, with impressive averages of 23.8 points, 15.3 rebounds, and 36.3 efficiency points per game across the championship.

Latvia took control of the final after halftime, maintaining a lead throughout the second half and at one point establishing a 14-point advantage. Key contributions also came from M. Jahovics (15 points), M. Aleksandrovsas (14 points), and M. Preimanis (10 points), solidifying their championship win.
