Lawmaker hails Tinubu, security chiefs over rescue of kidnapped Oyo victims

A Nigerian lawmaker has lauded President Bola Tinubu and the nation's security leadership for the successful rescue of teachers and pupils abducted from schools in Oyo State. Philip Agbese, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, called the operation a "defining moment" in Nigeria's campaign against insecurity.

Agbese stated that the successful operation has restored public confidence in the country's security architecture. He emphasized that it sends a strong message to terrorists and kidnappers, signaling they can no longer dictate the nation's security narrative. The lawmaker congratulated President Tinubu, the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, and various security agencies for their "outstanding display of professionalism, intelligence and inter-agency coordination."

He cited operations in Zamfara and Katsina States where troops foiled attacks, neutralized a terrorist commander, and intercepted hundreds of terrorists. "These are not isolated victories; they are clear evidence of a military that has seized the initiative and is relentlessly taking the battle to the enemies of our country," he declared.
