Lawyer Denies Ex-Prosecutor Received $40 Million from Businessman

The legal team for former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah has refuted claims that their client received Rp40 billion from businessman Tan Kian. Febri Diansyah, the lawyer representing Adriansyah, stated that a review of the pre-trial ruling revealed no conclusion by the judge that his client accepted the money.

Diansyah clarified that the pre-trial judge noted evidence presented by the respondent, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. This evidence included testimony from Tan Kian, who stated he gave money equivalent to Rp40 billion to an individual named Feri. The lawyer emphasized that the testimony was solely from Tan Kian and did not directly implicate Adriansyah.

Furthermore, Diansyah highlighted that the judge could not definitively conclude whether Febrie Adriansyah received the funds. The ruling, according to the lawyer, only acknowledged Tan Kian's statement about giving money to someone named Feri, without specifying Adriansyah as the recipient or confirming receipt.

Despite the pre-trial ruling not concluding in his favor regarding the search and seizure, Adriansyah respects the court's decision. Diansyah conveyed that his client, as a law enforcer, accepts and respects judicial outcomes.
