Leapmotor Begins Local Assembly of B10 and C10 EVs in Purwakarta, Indonesia

Leapmotor has officially commenced local electric vehicle assembly in Indonesia, marking a significant step in its expansion strategy within the Southeast Asian market. The B10 and C10 models are now being produced at PT National Assemblers Plant 3 in Purwakarta, West Java, adhering to the manufacturing standards set by Leapmotor and Stellantis.

This local production effort is a joint venture involving Leapmotor, Stellantis, and Indomobil Group. The collaboration aims to bolster the electric vehicle business in Indonesia, enhance supply chain flexibility, and align production with the growing domestic demand for EVs. Isaac Yeo, Managing Director of Stellantis ASEAN, highlighted Indonesia's substantial potential for EV growth in the region, stating, "Together with Indomobil, we are proud to embark on this new chapter through the local assembly of Leapmotor C10 and B10. This strategic collaboration will accelerate our electrification roadmap in the region, while positioning Indonesia as a key base for driving electric vehicle development in Southeast Asia."

The assembly facility represents an investment by Indomobil Group through PT National Assemblers. Spanning 158,000 square meters, the plant incorporates advanced production technology and automation systems for assembly and quality control. Initially, the facility can produce up to five units per hour, totaling approximately 10,000 units annually. Future plans include expanding this capacity to 17 units per hour, or about 34,000 units per year, by developing additional areas like the body shop and paint shop.

Alongside the production ramp-up, Leapmotor is developing its distribution network and after-sales services in Indonesia. PT Indomobil National Distributor, the official brand holder for Leapmotor, is committed to expanding its dealer network, ensuring spare parts availability, and enhancing technician expertise through Leapmotor-standard training. Tan Kim Piauw, CEO of PT Indomobil National Distributor, emphasized that local assembly is a new phase for Leapmotor in Indonesia. He noted that the investment not only increases domestic EV production capacity but also contributes to the broader development of Leapmotor's business and the EV ecosystem alongside Stellantis and Indomobil. "Along with that, we continue to expand our dealer network, strengthen after-sales service, and ensure the availability of genuine spare parts so that every customer can enjoy a worry-free ownership experience from day one," he added.
