Leclerc Calls British GP Win "Incredible" After Tough Start to Season

Charles Leclerc secured a "fantastic" victory at the British Grand Prix, marking his first win of the 2026 Formula One season and Ferrari's 250th triumph in the sport. The Monegasque driver expressed his elation, calling the win "incredible" even though the race concluded under a safety car, a scenario he acknowledged is not ideal for spectators.

"It has been incredible; neither I nor anyone else likes a finish like this, but to win, after these weeks of so much work, is something fantastic," Leclerc stated after crossing the finish line at Silverstone. This victory, his ninth in Formula One, comes after a challenging period for the driver and the Scuderia.

Leclerc, 28, felt his performance improve throughout the race, regaining a "feeling" he had been missing. The win at Silverstone was particularly significant, ending a winless streak that dated back to the United States Grand Prix on October 20, 2024. He has now achieved 53 podium finishes in his career, alongside 27 pole positions.

Expressing gratitude to his team, Leclerc hopes to maintain this momentum. "Now I hope to be able to maintain this streak. I am very grateful to the team," he added, looking forward to the remainder of the season after this hard-fought success.
