New Taipei City mayoral candidate Lee Chien-lung shared a touching moment from his campaign trail, revealing a handwritten acrostic poem he received from a friend.

Lee posted on Facebook about his visit to the Tucheng Xuefu Market, where he met with constituents and local officials. Amidst the campaign's bustle, a friend handed him a note, calling it "the heaviest document."

Upon closer inspection, the 16-character poem read: "Construct for the people in all directions, services flow for the people like rivers." The characters cleverly incorporated Lee's name, symbolizing the expectations placed upon him. Lee expressed deep gratitude, stating that such personal gestures of support are more moving than words.

He recounted how many residents approached him, offering encouragement and posing for photos, with smiles that affirmed his efforts. One supporter told him, "You must win; it's a blessing for New Taipei." Lee emphasized that the true blessing comes from the support of the people.

The candidate also mentioned the gifts of pineapples, garlic, radishes, and zongzi he received, which filled his office and his heart with happiness and energy. He affirmed his commitment to reaching every constituent, regardless of location, stating he remains tireless in his pursuit of connecting with the people of New Taipei.
