Lee Da-yeon staged a remarkable comeback to win the Aurum World Championship, her 10th career victory on the KLPGA Tour. The dramatic turnaround came after she recorded a triple bogey on the par-4 5th hole during the final round at Aurora Golf & Resort in Wonju.

Despite the setback, Lee demonstrated resilience, sinking an eagle on the 9th hole and adding birdies on the 15th, 17th, and 18th holes. This surge allowed her to finish with a total score of 12-under-par 276, narrowly beating runner-up Kim Su-ji by one stroke. The victory marks her second win of the season, following her triumph at the Hana Bank Championship in September, and earns her an 180 million won prize.

Lee's career has been marked by perseverance through significant injuries. She underwent surgery for a fractured left ankle in 2017, dealt with a wrist ligament tear in 2022, and battled back pain from a traffic accident last year. Her ability to overcome these challenges and achieve her 10th career win solidifies her reputation as a tenacious competitor.

Meanwhile, overnight leader Kim Su-ji narrowly missed out on the championship, making a bogey on the final 18th hole to finish at 11-under-par. Other contenders, including Lee Ye-won, who started the day in the lead, struggled in the challenging conditions, with many players posting over-par scores in the heat.
