Lee Kun-ying unveils Banqiao upgrade plan with 5 policies, 16 actions

Lee Kun-ying, a candidate for New Taipei City council, unveiled a comprehensive "blueprint for Banqiao's upgrade" on Sunday, outlining five major policy proposals and 16 action plans. Lee, who boasts an engineering background and experience in central government, aims to leverage his expertise to drive urban development in the district.

Lee's platform focuses on several key areas: balanced distribution of urban resources, comprehensive upgrades to infrastructure inspections, intelligent improvements to transportation efficiency, reduced pressure on youth while supporting the elderly and children, and the creation of a "cultural Banqiao" brand. He emphasized his commitment to addressing issues with efficient and effective solutions, returning politics to its problem-solving roots.

During the "New Generation Carries the New Era" joint forum in Banqiao, Lee detailed specific plans to tackle current issues. For food safety concerns, he proposed establishing an inter-departmental food safety response center, enhancing New Taipei's independent testing capabilities, and implementing AI-powered inspections. To combat the rise of new synthetic drugs on campuses, he advocated for strengthening anti-drug education, engaging volunteers in prevention campaigns, establishing campus early warning systems, and providing teachers with educational resources and professional support.

New Taipei City mayoral candidate Su Chiao-hui lauded Lee as an "A-grade candidate," highlighting his engineering expertise and central administrative experience. She stated that major projects like the "Banqiao Medical Park," "Fuzhou Urban Plan," and "National Children's Future Museum" require capable representatives like Lee to ensure proper oversight and accelerate their progress. Lee's extensive network and administrative coordination skills, honed during his time in central government, were evident with the presence of numerous supporters, including Nantou County mayoral candidate Wen Shih-cheng.
