Lenteng Agung Road Subsidence Repair Begins Tonight, Partial Closure Expected

The Lenteng Agung road in South Jakarta, which experienced subsidence, has been reopened to traffic following temporary repairs. The road, located on Jalan Raya Lenteng Agung towards Depok, Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, is now passable as of Friday afternoon.

Alhamdulillah, earlier around 15:30 for temporary handling, which focused on easing congestion, Alhamdulillah it has been resolved. This is only a temporary handling.

According to Sartono, Head of the Water Resources Unit for Jagakarsa District, the temporary fix involved filling the subsided area with soil and rocks. A 25-millimeter steel plate was then placed on top to allow vehicles to pass smoothly. This temporary measure was implemented to alleviate traffic congestion.

However, permanent repairs are scheduled to commence Friday night. This phase will involve installing a 2-meter box culvert. Sartono stated that the permanent repair work is expected to take a maximum of two to three days to complete.

Tonight, the installation of a 2-meter box culvert will be carried out. Maybe it will be gradual, maybe it can take two nights up to three days maximum.

During the permanent repair process, traffic will be managed with partial road closures. Sartono requested public understanding and patience, acknowledging that the work would impact traffic flow but emphasizing its necessity for a lasting solution.
