Malaysian actor Ammar Alfian has defended the casting of fellow actor and singer Aliff Aziz in the role of Sultan Mansur Syah for the musical theater production 'Mansur dan Liu'. Ammar stated that Aliff's past personal issues should not disqualify him from the role, emphasizing that casting should be based on individual talent and capability.

"I am a local actor and I don't care about that matter. Let it be each person's sustenance. Just because he made a mistake before does not mean he has not changed or will not change. We speak like this as if we are too perfect and great," Ammar wrote on his Threads account. The selection of Aliff Aziz had drawn criticism due to controversies surrounding the Singaporean actor, leading some to question his suitability for portraying a historical figure.

The musical theater 'Mansur & Liu,' directed by M. Nasir, features a cast including Melinda Dadew, Amerul Affendi, Sherry Alhadad, Hazama, and others. The production, presented by Roman Abadi and Icon Entertainment, is set to showcase 30 songs and original musical scores composed by M. Nasir.
