Lewis: Signing with Žalgiris is a blessing

American basketball player Marcus Lewis described his new contract with Lithuanian club Žalgiris as a "blessing," expressing profound gratitude for the opportunity. Lewis, who joined the team towards the end of the LKL regular season, stated that the agreement provides him with a clear direction for his professional career, something he feels he lacked previously.

"I feel like for the first time in my professional career, I know what my possible future paths are," Lewis said after signing with Žalgiris. "With work, I can join Žalgiris – maybe in 3 months, maybe next season. Sometime. Now I have a path, and that is a true blessing. I am in a good situation to climb to the top again. This is great."

Lewis visited the Žalgiris arena, toured the locker room, and met with club management, including president Paulius Jankūnas and sports director Gediminas Navickas. His impressions of the arena were featured in the "Žalgiris Insider" documentary episode "LKL Final."

Paulius Valinskas, a teammate from the Juventus team, lauded Lewis's energy and positive demeanor. "Endless energy, an extremely positive guy who wants to do everything – run, jump, block, score, pass the ball," Valinskas described. "His athleticism is simply impressive. He jumps off his left and right foot, jumps from two feet. As I said, a positive guy who wants to work after training, which is also very important. At the same time, he's hilariously funny and relaxed. I think anyone who spends time with him will remember him as one of the funnier guys."
