Lexus flagship sports car LC removed from Taiwan's official website; V8 classic to be succeeded by new powertrain

Lexus has officially bid farewell to its flagship LC sports car in Taiwan, with the model now removed from the official website. This move signifies the end of an era for the iconic V8-powered coupe and convertible, which has been a symbol of automotive elegance and performance.

The final iteration available in Taiwan was the LC 500 Final Edition. This special edition boasted exclusive features to enhance its dynamic presence and interior luxury. It was powered by a classic 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, delivering a robust 464 horsepower and 54 kg-m of torque, paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, offering an unparalleled driving experience.

The LC 500 Final Edition showcased distinct styling cues. The coupe variant featured a new "Obsidian Gray" paint job, while the convertible model sported a "Silver Titanium Gray" body with a textured brown soft top, exuding a unique sense of elegance. The interior was appointed with a "Snow White" theme, incorporating gradient embroidery on the center console and trim, complemented by exclusive badging and welcome pedals for a refined driving atmosphere.

While the V8-powered LC bows out, Lexus is already hinting at its successor. The LFA Concept car, unveiled by the manufacturer, suggests a future direction for Lexus sports cars, with expectations that it will adopt an all-electric powertrain. This concept has already been showcased in dynamic demonstrations, indicating it is nearing production readiness and will usher in a new chapter for Lexus's performance lineup.
