LG AI Research Partners with D&D Pharmatech for AI-Driven Peptide Drug Development

LG AI Research is stepping into the AI-driven biopharmaceutical market by collaborating with D&D Pharmatech to develop novel peptide drugs. The partnership, formalized with a business agreement signed on June 16, aims to combine LG's artificial intelligence capabilities with D&D Pharmatech's specialized knowledge in creating peptide-based therapeutics. LG AI Research, the AI think tank of the LG Group, and D&D Pharmatech, a company focused on treatments for chronic conditions such as obesity and MASH, will jointly develop next-generation drugs. D&D Pharmatech brings to the table its unique oral drug delivery technology for peptide medications, which are typically administered via injection. Their pipeline includes oral treatments for obesity and MASH. Peptide drugs are composed of amino acids linked in chains. This collaboration signifies LG's strategic move to gain a competitive edge in the burgeoning AI-biotech sector, utilizing advanced AI to accelerate the discovery and development of innovative treatments for significant global health challenges.
