LG and Nvidia CEOs to Meet Again, Focusing on AI Partnerships

LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang are set to meet again, marking their second encounter in just two months. This high-profile meeting, scheduled to take place at Nvidia's headquarters in Silicon Valley, is expected to solidify and detail the strategic partnership between the two technology giants.

The previous meeting, held in Seoul in June, saw discussions centered on expanding cooperation in areas such as physical AI, AI infrastructure, and mobility. Industry sources indicate that the upcoming meeting aims to translate those initial discussions into concrete collaborative projects.

A significant focus of the talks is expected to be 'physical AI,' a field that enables artificial intelligence to make judgments and take actions in the real physical world, with applications in humanoid robots and autonomous vehicles. LG Electronics has already partnered with Nvidia to co-develop its home robot, 'LG Cloi,' utilizing Nvidia's Isaac Sim and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software. LG's diverse manufacturing businesses, spanning home appliances, chemicals, and batteries, provide a broad platform for testing and validating AI models.

Mobility is another key area for collaboration. The companies are exploring ways to enhance next-generation advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) by integrating Nvidia's DRIVE Hyperion autonomous driving platform. Furthermore, discussions will likely cover cooperation in AI data centers, particularly focusing on advanced cooling solutions.

As AI services become more prevalent, the importance of efficient cooling technologies for data centers is growing. LG Electronics has already received quality certification from Nvidia for its 600kW-class Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU), becoming the first South Korean company to achieve this milestone. This collaboration underscores a shared vision to drive innovation at the forefront of artificial intelligence and its real-world applications.
