The life of a footballer's partner is often one of constant upheaval, dictated by the unpredictable nature of the transfer window. Jessica Beaumont, partner of footballer Owen Dale, shared her experiences navigating frequent moves and the emotional toll it takes.

Owen was on the phone to the manager and his agent while I was in labour. They waited for me to give birth and then he went out on loan pretty much as soon as I was out of hospital.

"You have to be prepared for anything in the transfer window," Beaumont stated. She recounted a particularly challenging period when Owen was on the phone discussing deals with his manager and agent while she was in labor. He was then loaned out almost immediately after she left the hospital.

Since living together, we've moved five times in five years.

Their situation highlights the instability inherent in the sport. The couple bought their first house together but ended up staying in it for only one night before Owen was loaned to Portsmouth, over 200 miles away. Beaumont found herself having to quickly adapt to a new reality, stating, "I had to quickly realise that 'OK this is now my life'."
