Lima and Callao face multi-day water and electricity service cuts

Residents across more than 10 districts in Lima and Callao are facing scheduled disruptions to water and electricity services between August 25 and August 28. The cuts, announced by Sedapal and Pluz Energía, are part of essential maintenance, disinfection, pipe connections, and infrastructure improvement works.

The suspensions will not affect entire districts but will target specific sectors, urbanizations, associations, and settlements. Affected areas include Chorrillos, Ate, Comas, San Juan de Lurigancho, San Miguel, Los Olivos, Breña, Callao, Carabayllo, Puente Piedra, and Independencia, among others. The timings for these interruptions will vary significantly depending on the specific location.

Sedapal's water service interruptions are planned for August 25 and 26. On Tuesday, August 25, Chorrillos will experience a cut from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. in sectors including Santa Anita and Villa Marina. Ate will have outages from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in sectors 159 and 182, while San Juan de Lurigancho faces similar hours in sector 405. Surquillo and San Borja also have scheduled cuts on the same day.

Wednesday, August 26, will see continued water service disruptions in Chorrillos, San Miguel, and San Juan de Lurigancho, with specific areas like Maranga and Los Amautas affected. San Antonio de Huarochirí will also experience an outage.

Pluz Energía's electricity cuts are scheduled to extend until August 28. On Tuesday, August 25, Carmen de la Legua, San Miguel, Ventanilla, Los Olivos, San Juan de Lurigancho, and Independencia will face power outages for several hours. Wednesday, August 26, includes interruptions in Ventanilla, Independencia, Carabayllo, and San Juan de Lurigancho.

Further electricity disruptions are slated for Thursday, August 27, impacting San Miguel, Carabayllo, Callao, San Martín de Porres, Los Olivos, Puente Piedra, San Juan de Lurigancho, and Independencia. The final day of planned cuts, Friday, August 28, will affect Los Olivos, Puente Piedra, Comas, Breña, and Callao.
