Limited burial space in Jabodetabek spurs need for organized Muslim cemeteries

The increasing scarcity of burial land in the Jabodetabek region of Indonesia is creating a growing need for Muslim cemeteries that are not only available but also managed professionally and in accordance with Islamic law. This demand is being met by facilities like Al Azhar Memorial Garden (AMG).

AMG, managed by the Al Azhar Islamic Boarding School Foundation (YPI Al Azhar), marks its 15th anniversary this year, having operated since 2011. The institution has focused on providing burial services that adhere strictly to Sharia principles while maintaining professional management standards. For Muslim families, ensuring that the entire process, from washing the deceased to the final burial rites, complies with Islamic teachings is a critical requirement during a difficult time.

Over the past 15 years, AMG has developed a comprehensive service offering. This includes the preparation of the deceased, the burial process itself, and ongoing grave maintenance. All procedures are guided by Islamic teachings, and a 24-hour service is available to accommodate families' needs at any time. Reza Hidayatullah, Head of Business Development & Marketing at AMG, stated that the organization strives to uphold the trust placed in them by the community.
