The case of Lindsay Clancy, a former nurse accused of killing her three young children, has ignited a global debate, reaching a critical juncture as a jury decision looms. The incident, which occurred on January 24, 2023, in Duxbury, Massachusetts, has deeply divided medical experts, legal professionals, feminist organizations, and the general public.

At the heart of the legal proceedings is the question of Clancy's mental state at the time of the killings. While state prosecutors argue that Clancy meticulously planned the murders, citing evidence such as her calculating the timing for her husband's departure and ordering food, forensic psychiatrists have testified that she was experiencing a severe psychotic episode.
