Lithuania Opens Additional Admission for University and College Study Places

Lithuania has opened an additional admission period for students seeking to fill vacant study positions in universities and colleges across the country. The application window commenced on Tuesday and will remain open until midday on Friday, allowing prospective students to secure remaining spots.

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the BPIS (Study Information System) portal. This system allows students to update existing applications or submit entirely new ones if they did not participate in the main admission round. Applications can be made for programs that still have available places, with a maximum of six preferences allowed per application.

Eligibility for state-funded places and scholarships is limited to specific categories of applicants. This includes individuals who did not finalize any contract during the primary admission phase or those who signed a contract for non-state-funded studies. The first stage of invitations will be issued on August 11 by 10 a.m., with contract signings scheduled from 2 p.m. on August 11 until 12 p.m. on August 13.

A second admission stage is planned from August 14 to 17, with results announced on August 20 by 10 a.m. Contract signings for this stage will occur from 2 p.m. on August 20 until 4 p.m. on August 21. Currently, universities have nearly 700 state-funded places available, while colleges have close to 600 state-funded places remaining.
