Lithuania Reports No Illegal Migrant Crossings from Belarus

Lithuania's State Border Guard Service (VSAT) reported a lull in illegal migrant crossings from Belarus on Sunday, with no individuals detected entering the country. This follows a period where border authorities have been actively managing the flow of migrants attempting to enter the European Union via Belarus.

While Lithuanian border guards registered no illegal crossings on Sunday, neighboring Latvia's border service did not admit 30 migrants into their country on the same day. Poland reported no migrant detections on its border with Belarus on Saturday. These figures reflect ongoing efforts by EU member states to control their borders amid the migration crisis.

Since the onset of the migration crisis, which Western countries attribute to the Minsk regime, Lithuania has prevented a significant number of individuals from entering. In total, approximately 25,400 illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania since the crisis began. Last year alone, over 1,600 individuals were stopped from crossing into Lithuania from Belarus at unauthorized locations, with 811 apprehended this year.
