Lithuania to block 40 more pirate websites

Lithuania is intensifying its efforts to combat online piracy with a new directive from the Radio and Television Commission (LRTK). The commission has decided to block access to 40 more pirate websites that are illegally distributing copyrighted content, including films and television series.

This move comes as a response to the persistent nature of online piracy. The LRTK noted that content previously blocked on certain websites has reappeared on new internet addresses. To counter this, the commission has now ordered the blocking of these new addresses as well, aiming to disrupt the illegal distribution channels.

Internet service providers in Lithuania are required to comply with the LRTK's decision within five days. Upon attempting to access the blocked sites, users will be redirected to an informational page managed by the LRTK. This measure aims to inform the public about the illegal nature of these sites and the commission's efforts to protect intellectual property rights.
