Lithuania Weather: Sunny Mid-Week, Rain Returns for Weekend

Following a powerful cyclone that recently swept through Lithuania, the country is anticipating a return to drier and sunnier conditions. Mid-week, temperatures are expected to climb as high as 25 degrees Celsius, offering a brief respite from the recent turbulent weather.

On Tuesday night, it will rain briefly in some places, with a higher probability in eastern regions and along the coast. During the day, especially in the afternoon hours, short, mostly light rains are expected again in many places, and thunderstorms may rumble in some places. The wind will be northwest, strengthening to 7–12 m/s.

However, this period of warmth will be short-lived. Forecasters predict that a new wave of rain will arrive by the weekend, signaling the approach of another low-pressure system. This shift means that while the middle of the week will bring pleasant, sunny days, the weekend is likely to see a return of significant rainfall and thunderstorms.

On Wednesday, a high-pressure area will strengthen in the region, so the air will gradually dry out and clouds will begin to disperse. The night is predicted to be without rain, only fog may occur in places. During the day, in some places, mainly in the southern part of the country, light rain may occur briefly, and a weak north wind will blow.

In the immediate aftermath of the cyclone, the weather on Tuesday will still be influenced by its remnants. There's a chance of brief showers, particularly in eastern regions and along the coast during the night. Daytime temperatures will range from 17 to 21 degrees Celsius, with winds picking up from the northwest. By Wednesday, high-pressure systems are expected to bring drier air and clearing skies, with nighttime temperatures dropping to 7-12 degrees Celsius and daytime highs reaching 18-23 degrees Celsius. Thursday is forecast to be dry and sunny under the influence of an anticyclone, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 24 degrees Celsius.

The outlook for Friday remains largely sunny and dry, with southerly winds increasing in the afternoon. Nighttime temperatures will be cool, around 7-12 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will reach 20-25 degrees Celsius. The forecast for Saturday, however, indicates a significant change as a new Atlantic cyclone and a cold front are expected to bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to most areas, accompanied by strengthening winds. Sunday is predicted to be calmer and warmer, though rain will still be present.

On Friday, according to her, sunny and dry weather will continue. The wind will turn to the southeast, 4–9 m/s at night, strengthening to 7–12 m/s during the day. The night will still be cool – the temperature will reach about 7–12 degrees Celsius, and about 13–15 degrees Celsius on the Curonian Spit. During the day, the thermometers in the shade will show 20–25 degrees Celsius.
