Lithuanian influencer narrowly survives fall, credits dog with saving her life

Lithuanian influencer Erika Umbrasaitė has shared a harrowing account of a near-fatal fall down stairs, an incident she narrowly survived thanks to her dog, Vikingas. Describing the event on social media and with Delfi readers, Umbrasaitė recounted how her dog's brief delay in leaving the house proved to be life-saving.

Umbrasaitė lost consciousness after the fall, with blood flowing from her head. Emergency services were called, but she initially downplayed the severity. At the hospital, she received stitches to her head and suffered extensive bruising across her body. Despite the severe impact, doctors were relieved she had broken no bones, with one physician remarking, "You are coming back from afar. You could have been in the morgue today, not in my chair."

The traumatic experience left Umbrasaitė with both physical and psychological scars. She described her face looking as though she had been in a boxing match, compounded by bruising and a drooping eyelid that made her appear perpetually surprised. The incident forced her to withdraw from public life to focus on recovery, dedicating her remaining energy to her demanding job at a gallery, working ten-hour days, seven days a week.
