Livaja Meets Hajduk Officials Amid Uncertainty Over Captain's Future

Marko Livaja, the captain of Croatian football club Hajduk Split, has met with club leadership to discuss his future after a recent disciplinary incident. Livaja left the team's training camp three days prior following a dispute with coach Gonzalo García. The conflict arose when Livaja, along with other players, returned late from celebrating Croatia's World Cup victory, leading García to order extra running drills, which Livaja reportedly refused.

Following the incident, Livaja was dismissed from training, and speculation arose that he might leave the club as a free agent. However, Hajduk Split issued a statement clarifying that their captain had not been placed on the transfer list. The club announced that a meeting would take place between club officials and Livaja to determine the best course of action.

According to Dalmatinski portal, the meeting occurred earlier today, involving club president Ivan Bilić, Livaja, and his agent Vincenzo Cavaliere. The outcome of their discussions remains undisclosed, with both the club and the player expected to announce their conclusions soon. As of now, Livaja is still a player for Hajduk Split, and fans are hopeful he will remain with the team.

Hajduk Split recently defeated Celje 1-0 in a friendly match, a game for which Livaja was not available. The team's first competitive match of the season is scheduled for eight days from now, in the first qualifying round of the Europa League against Žilina.
