Long Hai launches community tourism model to develop pristine coastline

Long Hai commune in Ho Chi Minh City has officially launched a new community tourism model named "Blue Sea Long Hai - Connecting Playground, Community Destination." This initiative, located in the coastal area spanning the Phước Thắng, Phước Bình, and Phước Lâm hamlets, aims to harness the region's pristine natural beauty for sustainable tourism and economic development.

The coastal stretch has long been recognized for its long sandy beaches, natural scenery, and tranquil atmosphere, yet its potential has remained largely untapped. Instead of pursuing heavy development with concrete structures or extensive service facilities, the commune has opted for a community-based tourism model. This approach prioritizes natural values and integrates experiential, sports, and cultural activities to attract visitors.

Ngo Thanh Phuc, Chairman of the Long Hai Commune People's Committee, stated that the model's implementation is designed not only to create a new destination but also to reflect the commune's strategic vision for sustainable exploitation of natural resources. "The operation of the model not only creates a new destination but also demonstrates the locality's strategic vision in sustainably exploiting natural values, turning available potential into effective community economic development resources," Phuc said.

To cater to the recreational needs of residents and tourists, the commune has invested in synchronized infrastructure, including beach soccer and beach volleyball courts. These facilities are intended to foster a community living space and provide a venue for sports activities, events, and exchange programs, thereby enriching the local tourism offerings. Looking ahead, Long Hai plans to introduce an "Fishing with Fishermen" experience, inviting tourists to join local fishermen in coastal netting activities, learn about traditional fishing methods, and experience the daily lives of the local community. This is expected to become a signature tourism product for Long Hai's coastal brand.
