Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan Visits Tay Ninh, Honors Contributors

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan led a delegation to the Binh Thanh revolutionary historical site in Tay Ninh province, paying homage to fallen heroes and expressing gratitude for their sacrifices in the struggle for national liberation and unification.

The delegation, accompanied by provincial leaders, observed a moment of silence to honor the martyrs and "Heroic Mothers of Vietnam." The group learned about the historical significance of the Binh Thanh site, recognized as a "red address" symbolizing the resilient revolutionary movement of the people of Long An (now Tay Ninh) during the protracted resistance war.

Strategically located between the Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay rivers and bordering Cambodia, Binh Thanh served as a crucial revolutionary base. It was one of the earliest bases for revolutionary forces in the South following the 1940 Nam Ky Uprising. During the 21-year unification war, Binh Thanh was designated as a leadership base by the Long An Provincial Party Committee, housing key administrative bodies and armed units that significantly contributed to the nation's victory.

These gifts, though modest, signify the Party and State's deep care for those who sacrificed for the country.

Recognized as a national historical relic in 1998, the Binh Thanh site spans over 98 hectares. It features restored facilities, including a museum, the provincial party committee's base, and a tunnel system, vividly recreating the arduous yet heroic conditions of past generations.

During the visit, Vice President Xuan presented 30 gifts to families of national contributors and policy beneficiaries in Binh Thanh commune. She stressed that these gifts, though modest, signify the Party and State's deep care for those who sacrificed for the country. The Vice President urged the families to continue upholding their revolutionary traditions and contribute to building a prosperous Tay Ninh.
