Long-serving Eintracht Frankfurt official Klaus Lötzbeier dies at 86

Eintracht Frankfurt is mourning the loss of Klaus Lötzbeier, a former board member and influential figure who passed away at the age of 86. The Bundesliga club announced his death, citing the family's notification. Lötzbeier served the club in responsible positions for more than a quarter-century, earning widespread respect from athletes, staff, and fans alike.

Club spokesperson Axel Hellmann stated that Eintracht Frankfurt owes Lötzbeier a great debt and extended condolences to his family. Lötzbeier's tenure at the club spanned from 1988 to 2015. He joined Eintracht after a successful career as a youth coach and leader at Viktoria Preußen. Following the club's relegation from the Bundesliga in 1996, he played a crucial role in stabilizing the team and helped assemble the promotion squad in 1998 alongside Horst Ehrmantraut.

He also sat on the board of the Fußball AG from 2008 to 2012, using his diplomatic skills to ease the initial strained relationship between the club and the corporate entity.
