López Beltrán to reduce contact with critical media

Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, son of former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, declared he will limit his engagement with media outlets he deems critical of his family or the ruling Morena party. López Beltrán, who recently resigned from his position in Morena to pursue a federal deputy candidacy in Tabasco for 2027, stated he will no longer "legitimize" media that spread "lies."

He plans to prioritize local media and radio stations in Tabasco, viewing them as better conduits for understanding and addressing citizens' needs. "I want and intend to connect with the people of Tabasco," he explained, justifying his selective approach to interviews.

López Beltrán criticized some national media, asserting they function more as "spokespeople for the opposition" than as objective news sources. He intends to avoid spaces that publish negative information about him or his family, stating, "I am not going to give them a clean slate with my presence."

Despite this stance, he affirmed that he will continue to grant interviews to outlets that allow him to communicate directly with the residents of the state and the district he hopes to represent, focusing on those that report on social issues and serve as a link to the community.
