AC Milan has secured the services of veteran midfielder Luka Modric for another season, extending his contract until June 30, 2027. The announcement came from the club on Thursday, confirming the Croatian star will remain at the San Siro.

Modric, who is now 40 years old, joined AC Milan at the start of the previous season following a highly decorated career with Real Madrid. He quickly established himself as a vital component of the Rossoneri's midfield. During his debut season, the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner played in 37 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals.

Despite Croatia's exit in the Round of 32, Milan anticipates Modric's continued presence will bolster their efforts to contend for the Serie A title in the 2026/2027 season, a campaign that also sees the team embarking on a new era under coach Ruben Amorim.
