The inclusion of the hat on the ballot photo touches upon a past electoral debate regarding the use of accessories. In 2022, a similar discussion arose concerning a candidate wearing a cap. While electoral regulations generally prohibit adornments that could be mistaken for campaign propaganda or hinder recognition, a higher court ruling later allowed accessories linked to a candidate's sociocultural identity. The court recognized that for some, like the candidate in question, a cap was integral to his image as a rapper and activist.
