Senate Candidate André do Prado Seeks Support from Nearly 600 São Paulo Mayors

André do Prado, President of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp) and a pre-candidate for the Senate, is actively working to secure support from nearly 600 mayors and council members throughout the state. He plans to meet with these local officials by Sunday, August 16, to present his proposals and solicit campaign backing.

To effectively cover the vast state, Prado has mapped out metropolitan regions encompassing numerous neighboring cities, including Campinas, São Paulo, and Sorocaba. He has strategically used events, such as the Explora fair in Holambra, to connect with local leaders, reportedly meeting with almost 40 mayors during one such occasion.

Prado expressed his intention to serve as a direct intermediary for mayors and council members, ensuring that local demands are heard in Congress and that the Senate remains attentive to the challenges faced by municipalities. He highlighted that he has identified the specific needs of each region. "The main concern for mayors today is the drop in revenue combined with increased expenses," Prado stated.
