Lula government chooses “The Force That Unites Brazil” as slogan for Sept. 7 parade

“The Force That Unites Brazil” will be the slogan displayed at this year’s Sept. 7 Independence Day parade in Brasília under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s government.

Posters and other materials carrying the phrase are expected to be installed on the Esplanade of Ministries as preparations continue. The parade will combine the traditional participation of the Navy, Army and Air Force with three thematic areas: national sovereignty, combating violence against women and the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

The event will take place amid a crisis involving Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court. The court’s justices are not confirmed to attend, and no member participated in last year’s parade. Protests against Justice Alexandre de Moraes have also been planned for the date, following the emergence of conversations between Moraes and Daniel Vorcaro, the former banker who owned Banco Master.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7. The presidential communications office said Lula, government ministers and other authorities will attend. Roads N1 and N2, where the presentations will take place, will close from 11 p.m. on Sunday, while pedestrian access to the stands will use S1 and vehicle and pedestrian access will use S2.
