Mac Allister ‘Very, Very Sad’ After Liverpool Contract Snub

Alexis Mac Allister has admitted that Liverpool’s decision not to offer him a new contract left him “very, very sad.” The Argentina international said the club informed him during the summer that it was not in a position to extend his deal.

The decision came as teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch signed new contracts. Mac Allister said he was happy for both players, but their renewals also sharpened his own disappointment. He joined Liverpool from Brighton in 2023 and has two years remaining on his current agreement.
